It is estimated that 40% of homes in Minnesota have high levels of Radon gas, which poses a significant health risk to many Minnesotan families. If your home is tested for Radon and the result shows high Radon levels (over 4 pCi/L), the Minnesota Department of Health and EPA recommends that you have a Radon Mitigation System installed. Our Radon Mitigators are licensed by the Minnesota Department of Health and certified by the National Radon Proficiency Program.
The Mitigation Process
Step 1: Test your home for Radon
If you haven’t tested your home for Radon gas in the past 2-5 years, the Minnesota Department of Health recommends that you do! The unit of measurement for Radon is pCi/L, and if levels are above 4.0 pCi/L, the US EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) recommends a Radon Mitigation System be installed at the property. This system will continuously pump dangerous Radon gas up and out of your home. If you have your home tested for radon by Marigold, we will apply $100 to your mitigation!
Step 2: Request a free quote
Our team will provide a free quote for a custom system for your home. There are many factors to consider including home type, foundation type, soil, and more, so to ensure that your home achieves the lowest levels of Radon possible, we build custom solutions for every home. That doesn’t necessarily translate to “more expensive”, though! As with most things in life, you get what you pay for, and we pride ourselves on being fair and transparent in our pricing for the best system for your home. Step 3: Schedule Installation
Our Radon Mitigators will arrive friendly, professional, and ready to install! Most installations take less than one full day to complete, so we’ll be out of your hair before you know it! The system will be built to be as unobtrusive as possible, inside and outside of your home. At least 24 hours after your installation we will schedule a follow up radon test to be completed with our state of the art testing equipment, so you can rest assured knowing that your home's levels have been reduced to safe levels.

Radon Testing
Radon is a colorless, odorless gas that can be present in homes and can only be detected with specialized equipment. Radon is the #1 leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers according to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). We offer Radon Testing as an add-on to our inspection services as well as a stand alone service. Our trained technicians will drop off the Radon Testing equipment with instructions on how to prepare your home for the test. The test must run for a minimum of 48 hours and then the Tech will schedule a time to pick up the equipment.
We use state-of-the art technology that allows results of the report to be emailed to you immediately upon completion of the report, rather than waiting for the Tech to arrive and retrieve results. If radon is high (over 4 pCi/L) it is recommended that you have a Radon Mitigation System installed to continually remove radon from the home.
Radon Mitigation
There are many different types of systems, and they must be specifically designed for your home to determine the most effective way to continuously remove the gas. Some examples include sub slab depressurization, drain tile, and dirt floor crawl space encapsulation. However, that doesn’t mean that they have to break the bank! Our team is dedicated to creating the most cost-effective solution possible that you can trust will last. We provide a free quote for all of our custom system installations. These custom solutions include a free floor plan of the level the system is installed in so that we can build a system that will be both functional and as unobtrusive as possible. Mitigation System Repair
Marigold’s systems come with a lifetime guarantee on workmanship, and we are happy to provide our quality workmanship to repair any existing system. From fan replacement, to system upgrades to current MDH requirements, to structural repairs, to additional sealing, we can service and repair your mitigation system.
Passive to Active - System Activation
If your home was built after 2009, you likely have a Passive Radon Mitigation system already installed in your home. This means that the plumbing and electrical components have already been installed and are ready to be activated. Our team can activate the system by installing the remaining components which include a fan, a manometer, the required MN Department of Health license tag, and an air flow alarm. By adding these components your system will be able to draw radon from underneath the foundation of your home and expel it above your roofline, thereby reducing the levels in your home to safe levels. Our service also includes a complimentary follow up radon test by a licensed radon technician to ensure that safe levels have been achieved.
